BORDEAUX SPECIALIST (LEVEL 2)
Course Objective
 
The course consists of full day of lecture and a 1.5 hour exam (which includes 3 blind tastings) and promises to render any participant a true master on this world famous, historically favorite & legendary wine region. Wines tasted will cover the most important appellations, styles and classifications (INCLUDING GRAND CRU CLASSE labels...).
To discover the diversity and quality of the world's largest fine wine region imparting the basic knowledge enabling participants to taste, describe and appreciate wines.
Course Information
Session 1:
The origins of  viticulture and winemaking
  The basic  economic background of Bordeaux wine
  The language  and technique of tasting
Session 2:
Viticulture  and vine growing
  Grape  varieties, the AOC appellation system
  Saint-Emilion  - Pomerol - Fronsac
Session 3:
The art of  making red wines
  Ageing red  wines
  Bottling and  labeling and applicable legislation
  Medoc and  Graves
Session 4:
Dry white  wines
  Sweet white  wines
The course is open to ALL with NO PRE-REQUISITES. We do strongly advise a basic wine knowledge and prior wine class experience.
Participants will receive an official certificate issued by the Bordeaux L'Ecole du Vin
